Celebrate Fall and transform the sidewalk at The Gallery on the Square into a beautiful piece of art!
This contest is open to registrants of ALL ages. You are allowed to compete as an individual or as a family. As a registered artist, you will be given a square of sidewalk surrounding The Gallery to work with. Squares will be assigned upon check in on the day of the event.

Judge's favorite (per age group: children, youth, teens/adults)
Registration fee = $5.00 (paid the day of the event- contact-free methods available)
Pre-registration is recommended but not required. Online and Paper forms will be available the day of the event.

Supplies/ What to Bring:
Basic Chalk set provided
You are free to bring your own (see rules below)
Recommended: knee pads, snacks, water, your design
Only washable chalk may be in your design. No acrylic paints, liquid pastels, oil -based pastels, hard pastels, etc. will be allowed
Designs must not exceed beyond their designated square.
All artwork must be appropriate for public viewing by all ages; No lewd, graphic violence, nudity
No political messages, words or symbols intended as advertising may appear in the image or space provided
Pedestrians are allowed to freely move and walk on the sidewalk. You are not allowed to block their stroll.
Please note: Your artwork WILL be walked on. In the past pedestrians have tried to avoid walking on the beautiful sidewalk chalk art displays, but it is not required for them to do so. It is a safety concern, so please allow them to freely walk where needed.
Digital photos will be taken during and after the event. Unitas Honor Academy, Anita's Art, Bardstown Youth Artworx, and The Gallery on the Square reserve the right to use photographs for marketing, promotion and publicity purposes
Organizers have the right to disqualify and/or remove any inappropriate art or writing as they deem necessary
Spaces will be assigned on first come first served basis
Official judging based on first impression, creativity, originality, skill and use of color. Decision of the judges are final.
If you win:
You will be notified via the email provided on the registration form.
You do not have to be present to win.
You must pick your prize up from The Gallery on the Square within 2 weeks of the email notification.
COVID POLICIES: You must maintain 6ft social distancing at all times. This is an outdoor event with ample room to safely distance, so masks are not required. Sidewalk squares will be assigned to safely and easily accommodate social distancing requirements. If you enter The Gallery, you must abide by their posted policies. Chalk must not be returned, so please only get what you are going to use. You are also allowed to bring your own chalk.
